Spiritual Artz for Kids
Spiritual
Artz for Kids is an unfolding adventure for the spiritual
nurture and support for children from diverse faith traditions.
Classes are a special time to explore personal spiritual
journeys and share family traditions. We discuss social justice
issues, religions and cultures. Spiritual mentoring is modeled
after the spiritual direction relationship. Participants are
provided with spiritually rich play experiences, story books and
field trips while sharing these special times with spiritual
companions.
During the school
year we have “Wednesday
Retreats” from 5:30 to 7:30 in the parish hall. We begin with
dinner and check in where children and their parents may reflect
on thoughts and feelings. After dinner we gather together to
hear a story from one of the world’s spiritual traditions.
Afterwards, individual participants silently reflect on the
story, while spending time in “holy play.” We come together
again to share our reflections.
This
May there will be a children’s workshop on grieving the loss of
a pet.
In the summer there
is Spiritual Artz for Kidz Camp. This summer we will
focus on the religions of Asia and will include a Practical Artz
component that focuses on life skills.
Labyrinth workshops
are available in the San Francisco Bay Area. They may be
intergenerational or exclusively for children. The spiritual,
emotional and sensory-motor benefits of labyrinth walking are
explored. An educational component can be provided for adults
and teens.

The program is
organized and directed by:

for children. She has a Masters Degree in education and has
